Diane Macpherson

Diane Macpherson is Head of On-Demand Content at Kagiso Connect (formerly Kagiso Media Radio) in South Africa. She oversees podcast and digital audio strategy for the group, focusing on East Coast Radio and Jacaranda FM, two leading commercial radio stations. With over 25 years of experience, she has worked in journalism, newsroom leadership, and content strategy.

She began her career as a radio journalist in Durban in the late 1990s and progressed to senior editorial and management positions. Her work focuses on guiding teams to produce engaging audio, as well as leading the development of bespoke podcasts, including award-winning titles. She works closely with teams to translate live broadcasts into on-demand content that deepens audience engagement.

Diane is especially interested in the role of trust in media and the lasting value of human-led storytelling. She brings a practical, editorial lens to her work, with a focus on consistency, credibility, and audience connection. She also serves on the advisory board of the South African Podcasters Guild.
